faq's

1. I / We have decided to get started on our new home / alteration but we are not too sure on the process, can you help?

Yes we can, the first part of the process is contacting us, the next step is to arrange a time that suits you to meet onsite or at your home to discuss the scope of works to be undertaken.

From here we will go through the necessary design and planning stages to ensure that your project runs smoothly and is enjoyable for you - our aim is to make the process enjoyable and as easy for you as we can.

We can advise of all the necessary trades that will be involved in the project so you are fully informed the throughout the whole process.

2. I / We both work full time and can not make it into your office or meet during work hours, is it possible to arrange a meeting / site visit after work or during the weekend?

Yes it is, we work around your lifestyle and work life, we can arrange to meet you at a time and location that suits you.

3. How much will my plans cost?

This is an area that can vary significantly from job to job. Here at Insignia we know every job is different, as part of the no-obligation free initial consultation we will come out and speak with you to discuss each and every aspect of your job.

From this we will be able to obtain a scope of work and give you an approximate cost on the spot, if you require a written quote these can be produced for you also.

As a standard we charge on an hourly rate of $65.00 plus GST per hour plus expendables.

4. How long will it take to complete my set of plans?

This is a hard question to answer, as each job is very different we recommend the initial consultation to cover this, once we have discussed the job scope we can give you a time frame in order to work to.

But we need it completed by a certain date, can you do this?
Yes we can, we will work around your time frame to best accommodate your needs, depending on the scope of works and the sub contractors involved.

If for some reason we will not be able to complete the plans by the time required by you we will let you know at the initial meeting or discussions and from there we can recommend other industry piers with suitable knowledge for you to contact.

5. We are looking at doing our project in stages, can this be done?

Yes we can stage your project to suit you, we aim to make the project flow smoothly and the transition between stages as cost efficient as possible, we have completed many projects of this nature and currently have some under construction.

6. Do you organise everything to do with my project or can I do some of that myself / our selves?

We can organise as much or as little as you would like us too.

As every job is different and all clients have connections in different areas we can accommodate this.

If for example you have a surveyor you would like to use we can use them or, if you do not, then we can recommend one to complete the works.

7. I do not have a builder lined up, can you recommend one?

The answer is YES, if you do not have a builder that you wish to undertake your work we can definitely recommend one for you.

This is done on a job by job basis where we match your requirements and work scope to a range of Master Builders and Certified Builders that we work with.

We recommend getting a builder involved at Concept Plan Stage so that we can ensure everybody is along the same wavelength and is used to working together prior to the house construction commencing.

It is at the Concept Plan Stage we will get a pricing and time estimate from your prospective builder to ensure the works can be completed to budget and on time.

8. Help we need more space for our expanding family or lifestyle and our house is too small, can this be achieved without having to spend too much money?

Yes it can, it depends a lot on what is classed too much money but we can definitely achieve something for you.

Alterations can take many shapes and forms whether they are external projections or internal wall movements we can design something to suit your needs.

The best process for this is to contact us to arrange a consultation at your home where we can discuss the most viable options for you.
